Morning Ritual

One of my passions is listening to people’s stories, listening to people talk. For a fee people call me to talk to me and tell me their stories. Every morning I receive a string of half hour calls from people needing to tell me their story and off load what is on their chest. There is one gentleman, let’s call him Bill. Bill calls Monday to Friday every morning while he’s driving to work. He tells me about how he feels. He talks about his wife and children. Today he talked about how proud he is of his four year old little girl starting school. It’s seven months now since I’ve been listening to Bill. I asked him why he calls me. He told me talking to me enables him to clear his mind and prepare him for the day.
He says, “Mailey I’m happy to talk to you every day”. He says my service nourishes him. He told me that since he’s been talking to me his concentration is better at work and he no longer has to off-load on his wife and this has eased the tension in their relationship.
